The Dynamic Diversion Program Empowering Housing Stability

Good Samaritan’s Prevention, Diversion, and Rehousing program is a comprehensive countywide initiative dedicated to assisting individuals and families facing housing challenges. This multifaceted program operates Coordinated Entry Access points across the county, engaging with those who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or seeking information about available services in the community.

A key facet of the program is the Diversion hotline, where individuals can seek assistance. Diversion initiates meaningful conversations, exploring innovative options to empower individuals and families to address their current housing instabilities. Embracing a creative and thought-provoking approach, the program encourages households to consider possibilities and directions that may not have been previously contemplated, ultimately fostering housing stability.

The program extends support to tenants in the county’s unincorporated areas facing displacement by property owners. In addition to relocation assistance, the program provides strength-based case management, light-touch financial aid, and facilitates conflict resolution between landlords and tenants.

Supervised by Judette Montoya, the program boasts a dedicated team of seven members strategically positioned throughout the county to connect with individuals where they are. In 2023, the program served 89 individuals and remains committed to ongoing collaboration with these households to stabilize their housing situations.
