Food For Good

Food For Good is Good Samaritan Shelter’s answer to the challenge of providing our clients with locally sourced, economically efficient, nutritious food while simultaneously providing an opportunity to learn practical job skills that set our clients up for future success!
Connecting fresh food and workforce training to housing stability
Through our Food for Good initiative, Good Samaritan Shelter connects healthy food access with meaningful job opportunities.
At Bridgehouse Farm, clients learn agricultural skills while growing over 2,000 pounds of fresh produce each week. That produce is delivered directly to our shelters and housing programs, ensuring nutritious, farm-to-table meals for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
Alongside the farm, the Culinary Training Program equips clients with hands-on skills in cooking and food service while providing meals for shelters, supportive housing sites, and community events.
Whether in agriculture or the kitchen, these training programs give participants the experience and income pathways they need to secure employment. By linking jobs to housing, Food for Good helps clients move toward long-term stability and independence.
